R.I.P. Ann Rabson, Uppity Blues Woman

January 30, 2013

Blues artist Ann Rabson passed away today, January 30, 2013, after a long battle with cancer.  She was 67 years old and was an accomplished blues pianist, guitarist, singer, and songwriter.  She co-founded the female blues trio Saffire - The Uppity Blues Women, where she became known for her barrelhouse piano style and soulful singing.

Elwood was fortunate enough to have Ann on the Radio Hour several times, and always appreciated her candor and sense of humor.  Our thoughts go out to her family and friends.
