"Gangster And Iztatoz Chauffeur"
Otis Taylor
My World Is Gone

You never quite know what roots visionary Otis Taylor is going to come up with next. His latest record owes its name to a Jimi Hendrix tribute concert. Otis was talking backstage with Mato Nanji, front man for Indigenous, the native American rock band. Mato said to him, My World Is Gone.

Otis Taylor found the simplicity – and honesty -- of those four words to be an inspiration. With Mato Nanji sitting in on lead guitar on half the tracks, Otis Taylor has given us a picture of Native American history and modern life, as filtered through that African American art form: the blues.
