Curtis Salgado is a legend in the Oregon music scene, and became a kind of musician’s musician.  He sang with Robert Cray’s band for a while, fronted Roomful of Blues for a couple years.  He’s sat in with Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, and Bonnie Raitt.  And he made a lot of friends.

Those friends came in mighty handy a couple years ago when Curtis was diagnosed with liver cancer.  And he had no health insurance.  His friends and admirers organized a series of benefits for him, eventually raising half a million dollars.  One last minute liver transplant later, and he is back, in triumph, with a new CD, Clean Getaway.
