Big Shanty is also the alter ego of former record promoter Dick Wooley.  In his days with Atlantic and Capricorn Records, Dick worked with folks like Molly Hatchett, Wet Willie, and the Allman Brothers.  Then he started his own label in Georgia, King Mojo Records. 

Following the old saying “if you don’t hear the music you want to hear, make it yourself,” he did just that.  He became Big Shanty and made some music.  And his new album is called Sold Out.
