Buckwheat Zydeco "The Wrong Side" (June 1-5, 2009)

Buckwheat Zydeco
"The Wrong Side"
Lay Your Burden Down
Alligator Records

As he was growing up, Stanley Dural Jr., nicknamed Buckwheat, wanted nothing to do with his father's zydeco music. But one day, Buckwheat's father convinced him to see a show with legendary zydeco pioneer, Clifton Chenier. It was an epiphany for the young man, and by the end of the night, Buckwheat was on stage performing with Clifton.

This year Buckwheat Zydeco is celebrating his 30th Anniversary in the music business, and he is doing it with a brand new album. LAY YOUR BURDEN DOWN features help from friends like Sonny Landreth, Warren Haynes, and JJ Grey.
