Joanne Shaw Taylor- "Going Home" (June 29-July 3, 2009)

Joanne Shaw Taylor
"Going Home"
White Sugar
Ruf Records

Joanne Shaw Taylor was just 16 years old when Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics happened to see her play guitar.  Next thing she knew she was in Stewart’s band, D.U.P., playing with Stewart, Jimmy Cliff, and Prince protégé, Candy Dulfer.

Now, not yet 25, Joanne has her own terrific CD, WHITE SUGAR.  She has a powerful raspy voice.  And her guitar goes from shred to snarl to soar in the blink of an eye.  And she writes her own songs.  This young woman is going places.
