LaVay Smith was born in LA, lived in the Philippines, then moved back to southern California, where she performed as a rock, folk, and country singer.  Then, she discovered the jazz and blues of the nineteen thirties, forties, and fifties, and fell in love. 

LaVay started her own record label, and with her incredibly tight combo the Red Hot Skillet Lickers, she tours the world, bringing her message: It Don’t Mean a Thing if It Ain’t Got that Swing.  Her swingin' new album is called Miss Smith To You!.
