Bob Weir: Blues Breaker
Bob Weir, of the Grateful Dead, has his first solo album since 2004. Inspired by a job he had when he was 15 years old. See, Weir ran away from home to be a cowboy. And got a job at a dude ranch for the summer. They did not have a radio or television. So they did what cowboys do… they sang songs around a fire. And now, that teen-aged job from 1962 inspires Bob Weir to make an album of cowboy songs. Great record. All originals. Like this sad tale. “Lay My Lily Down.”
