With her two brothers, Danielle Nicole was part of the respected Kansas City blues band, Trampled Under Foot. Now she is on her own, and joins Elwood to tell us what she’s up to. Her solo release is called WOLF DEN. Plus music from the ace who produced her record, Anders Osborne. Also a mini-tribute to some other KC musicians, including Albert King, and Big Joe Turner. Elwood closes things out with a 77th birthday salute to soul legend William Bell, out with his first new record in 30 years.

Hour 2: Billy Gibbons

Billy Gibbons takes a break from fronting ZZ Top to bring us a unique solo project – Cubano-tinged rock and roll. Billy Gibbons and the BFG’s offer up PERFECTAMUNDO. Billy joins Elwood to talk about that and his life in the blues. Also: hear some of Billy’s recent guest work with Buddy Guy, Shemekia Copeland, and Johnny Winter. And some old school Texas and Louisiana blues with Lightnin’ Hopkins and Slim Harpo.
