Elwood’s Blues Breaker: Markus James “Just Say Yes”
Markus James lives in California these days, but he spent years exploring the music of West Africa, particularly in Mali. There he found the roots of American blues, and made his own music out of what he learned and heard. Markus’s latest is called HEAD FOR THE HILLS, and this time he finds the African connection in the blues of North Mississippi. To which, once again, Markus James brings his own original musical twist. Each track features James with a guest percussionist, straight out of the north Mississippi Hills. Here you go.
