Hour 1: ZZ Top

This week big sounds from small packages: trios. You will hear the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Hound Dog Taylor and the Houserockers, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. Plus a look at the blues of ZZ Top, with exclusive interviews with all three members: Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard. And some of the blues that shaped their blues, from Freddie King and Muddy Waters. Elwood locks it up with another funky trio, out of Florida, Swamp Cabbage.

Hour 2: MonkeyJunk

Elwood says hello to the great Ottawa trio, MonkeyJunk, inventors of Canadian swamp blues. Their latest release is MOON TURN RED, continuing their evolution as one of the greatest funky bands out there. Plus, some other trios that know how to tear things up - ZZ Top, Stray Cats, the North Mississippi Allstars.
