Elwood’s Blues Breaker — Toronzo Cannon has been a bus driver in Chicago most of his adult life. He grew up in the city, right next to Theresa’s Lounge. Now long gone, T’s Basement was a breeding ground for Chicago blues. So the music is in his blood.
When Toronzo picked up a guitar as a teenager, naturally it was the blues that poured out of it. He was inspired by the three Kings: BB, Freddie, and Albert… by Hendrix, gospel, by seventies soul. And put it all together to come up with his own sound.
